Lee Jasper Lipscomb, 95, of Thomas, passed away Nov. 18, 2012, at his home.
He was born May 22, 1917, at Leadmine, a son of the late Alex and Anna Mae Pifer Lipscomb.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine "Betty" Lipscomb, in 2010; brothers, George, Burt and Jack Lipscomb; and sisters, Vern Watring, Sarah Carrico and Corrie Moats. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survivors include, two sons, Richard (Marsha) Lipscomb of Greensboro, N.C., Jerry (Tammy) Lipscomb of Montrose; two daughters, Linda Lawrence of Parsons and the late (Alvin) Lawrence, and Mary (Chuck) Milkint of Thomas; 10 grandchildren, Dawn and Chuck Taylor, Randal A. Amie, Christina and Frank Dotson, Matthew Lipscomb, Michael and Cyndi Lipscomb, Melissa and Brian Huffman, Joanna Keller, Eli Lipscomb and Preston Lipscomb; and 12 great-grandchildren, Jeremy Taylor, Brittany Taylor, Brooke and Justin Sharp, Seth Dotson, Ian Dotson, Nyssabeth Lipscomb, Charles Lipscomb, Madison Lipscomb, Kenny Lipscomb, Ashley Huffins, Elizabeth Keller and Courtney Keller.
Mr. Lipscomb was retired from Western Maryland Railroad having worked as a trackman (gandy dancer) for 39 years. He also worked for the city of Thomas for several years. He was a member of Thomas United Methodist Church. His greatest joys were his love of Christ, his family and helping others.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home today from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Neil Parsons and Rev. Neal Precht officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
