Samantha Louise Hinkle, 42, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life early Wednesday morning, Nov. 28, 2012, in Davis Memorial Hospital, following a long battle with cancer.
She was born Tuesday, June 30, 1970, at Elkins, a daughter of Clark Daniel Hinkle of Elkins and the late Lola M. Brick Hinkle.
Samantha is survived by two daughters, Kaitlin Nicole McLaughlin and Jessica Anne McLaughlin; her former husband, Bryan McLaughlin of Winchester, Va., with whom she had remained friends; her maternal grandmother, Ruth Elaine Hinkle; her uncle, William H. "Bill" Grindle of Elkins; and a cousin, Paul Grindle of Elkins.
Samantha was proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents, William Patrick Brick and Alyce Virginia Brick; her paternal grandfather, Ellery James Hinkle; and her aunt, Rosilee Anna Grindle
Samantha was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1988, had attended Davis & Elkins College and was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, online gaming, and staying in contact with family and friends through social media.
Samantha's request for cremation was honored. A graveside service will be conducted in Davis Cemetery in Davis Saturday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m.
