D'Ann Himes, 61, a resident of Culloden, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, in Hubbard Hospice House, following a long illness.
She was born Aug. 2, 1951, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Robert and Charlene Davidson Gay.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Thomas Himes of Culloden; a daughter, Alison Stone and husband, Chad, of Eleanor; her mother-in-law, Violet Himes of Elkins; a granddaughter, Rylee Stone, and stepgrandson, Treyton Stone.
D'Ann was a graduate of Sistersville High School and Morris Harvey College receiving a degree in nursing. She was a nurse for Mountain State Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance Co. prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church at Teays Valley. She loved her family, her dog, Reece, and especially loved spending time with her granddaughter, Rylee, who was her pride and joy.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. John's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Martin Hallett officiating. Interment will follow in Valley View Memorial Park.
