A Randolph County resident was awarded a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy.
Dr. Desiree Lucas of Beverly is a member of the WVU School of Pharmacy Class of 2012.
Dr. Lucas is the daughter of Eric and Frankie Lucas. She is a graduate of Elkins High School. While studying at the WVU School of Pharmacy, Lucas served as the professionalism chair of Lambda Kappa Sigma international professional pharmacy fraternity. She was also a member of the WVU chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP).
Lucas received several awards and scholarships including a Promise Scholarship, the Nona Fay & CM Hamlett Scholarship, the Robert and Stephany Ruffolo Endowed Scholarship, the A Step to Success Scholarship and the Ann Dinardi Scholarship. She also achieved Dean's List honors. The Dean's List recognizes those who achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Lucas graduated magna cum laude.
