EMS boys sweep Bucs

Elkins swept Buckhannon-Upshur Tuesday night in middle school boys basketball action at the EMS gymnasium.

The Hornets (2-1) held on for a 38-35 win in the varsity game as Curtis Bullock tossed in 13 points. Blake Loftis and Kyle Riggleman added seven each.

Sam Cutright fired in 18 points for the Bucs.

Elliott White tallied 14 points and Zach Shreve hit for eight as EMS (2-1) took the junior varsity contest, 42-37.

Christian McKisic had 12 points and Haden Edwards eight for the Bucs.

Elkins will travel to Belington at 6 p.m. on Monday, while B-U will visit Taylor County at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

EMS falls to B-UMS

BUCKHANNON - Buckhannon-Upshur swept Elkins Tuesday in girls middle school basketball.

B-U took the varsity game 49-10 as Hanna McClung had 14 points.

Haley Collett, Christine Zurbuch and Sierra Poling all had three points for the Hornets.

Alli Robinson had 12 points to lead the Bucs to a 42-11 win in the junior varsity game.

Lauren Silvester had five points, Kaci Zopp four and Susan Riggleman two for EMS.

The Hornets will host Belington at 6 p.m. on Monday.

B-U will host Taylor County on Thursday.

Green Bank, TV split tilts

GREEN?BANK?- Sarah Ryder scored 13 points to lead Green Bank to a 46-16 win over Tygarts Valley Tuesday in middle school varsity girls basketball action.

Mary Kelley added 10 points for the Eagles.

Leah Arbogast had five points and Tamara Fortney four for the Bulldogs.

Tygarts Valley took the junior varsity contest, 16-4. Johanna Riggleman had six points, while Morgan Lanham and Kristen White had four each. Haley Bennett and Marlee McLaughlin had two points each to pace the Eagles.

Green Bank will travel to Richwood on Thursday, while Tygarts Valley will entertain Marlinton on the same evening.
