Junior "Bill" Kovach, 65, of Thomas, passed away Dec. 5, 2012, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 27, 1947, at Davis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aline R. Shaffer Kovach; and four brothers, Frank, Rudy, Andy and Eddie Kovach.
He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Jane Kovach of Kerens and Jeannine Kovach Helmick of Hagerstown, Md.; one son, Mark Owens of Stephen City, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Kristie Aline Owens, Susan Deann Morris, Amanda Leah White, Aaron Dale Whitehair, Samantha Danielle Owens, Ashley Dawn Kerns, Kayla Alexandra Helmick, Mikey Alan Helmick, Tori Elaine Morral, Mark Logan Owens; and seven great-grandchildren, Inza Elaine Pacella, Ethan Scott Pacella, Zoe Rose White, Karley Nikkole Woods, Raelynn Sky White, and Isabella Jewel Whitehair.
Mr. Kovach worked for the Davis Center as a corrections officer for 32 years. After retirement, he worked for Hinkle Funeral Home for 10 years as Scott's right-hand man. He was a member of the FOE 936 and a lifelong member of Thomas Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandbabies, being Santa Claus at Christmas time and crocheting.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home Sunday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant.
