BELINGTON - Brooke Pomp had 13 points to lead Belington past South Preston 38-16 Thursday in middle school girls basketball play.
Brianna Williams, Kasey Neville and Maddi Carpenter tallied six points each for the Lady Hawks (2-0), who led 15-9 at halftime. Jessica Harris added three points and Kirsten Wetzel and McKenzie Carpenter chipped in with two points for BMS.
Belington will travel to Elkins at 6 p.m. on Monday night.
TV sweeps MMS
MILL?CREEK?- The Tygarts Valley Middle School girls basketball swept a pair of games from Marlinton on Thursday night.
The Lady Bulldogs (1-1) won the varsity contest, 30-16.
Erica Woods finished with six points, while Leah Arbogast and Ashley Arbogast had five points each for Tygarts Valley.
Sydney Rose had eight points for Marlinton.
Tygarts Valley (2-0) won the junior varsity contest, 28-18.
Korie Kane had nine points, while Morgan Lanham chipped in with eight points for the Lady Bulldogs.
Catlyn Sparks had eight points for Marlinton.
Tygarts Valley will host Kasson at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Green Bank rolls
RICHWOOD - Green Bank defeated Richwood 56-28 Thursday in middle school girls basketball action.
Autumn Nelson and Sarah Ryder had 14 points each for the Lady Eagles (2-0). Mary Kelly chipped in with 13 points.
Erica Lawrence had 10 points to lead Richwood.
The Lady Eagles (0-2) lost the junior varsity contest, 25-14.
Green Bank will entertain Mountain View on Saturday.
