The Elkins High School wrestling team picked up a win over Robert C. Byrd during a quad-match held Friday night at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.
Tyler Reed (106 pounds) went 4-1 during the evening to lead the Tigers, while Anthony Haden (126) recorded a pin against Fairmont Senior, which won the quad-match. Preston was the other entry in the field.
"Our guys gave a great effort tonight," Elkins coach Chris Hamrick said. "We were in nearly match and I?couldn't have asked for a better showing. We just need to work on our technique and will be good to go."
