Busy, busy! Wow, schedules sure do fill up quickly this time of year. Shopping, gift wrapping, baking, cleaning, parties, decorating, cards, the list seems to go on and on.
It's nice to see a new business in Belington. LeLynn's Lullabies, owned by Tina McCumbers, is located on Crim Avenue and specializes in baby items. We wish you the best!
Philippi Basketball starts their first games today at the City Gym. Come out and support our youth. I was there one night for practice and was impressed to see the older teenage boys take the time to show the younger teenagers the ins and outs of the game.
I was able to drive past the Barbour County Fairgrounds this week to get a look at the new playground equipment. It won't be open until April, but consists of two separate playground sets and looks very nice. Almost makes me wish I was a kid again. This was funded through a federal grant.
Nestorville Church is having their Christmas musical, "Memories of Christmas", on Sunday. Presentation starts at 5 p.m., followed by a meal at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
On Friday at 7 p.m. and again on Dec. 23 at 6 p.m., Faith Way Baptist Church would like to invite everyone to their musical presentation, "Go Tell It On The Mountain." This presentation includes several musical selections featuring solos and all-choir songs.
Christmas is a magical time to spend with family and remember those things that are important. It's easy to get caught up in all the preparations and end up forgetting about the real reason of the season.
While you are taking time for everything else, make sure you also take the time to sit back and remember the true meaning of Christmas.
If you have any Barbour County news that you would like to see in the Inter-Mountain, give me a call at 823-2539. Thank you for all the nice comments.
Until next time: "One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don't clean it up too quickly." - Andy Rooney
