Two men sentenced in Upshur County court

Two Randolph County men were placed on five years of probation after being convicted in Upshur County Circuit Court of grand larceny and conspiracy.

Devin William McCauley, 23, of Montrose, and Daniel Thomas Gray, 26, of Elkins, will each have to serve 20 days in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail as part of their probation.

Judge Thomas Keadle suspended concurrent prison sentences of one to five years on the conspiracy charge and one to 10 years on the grand larceny charge in favor of the probationary term. Those sentences could be reinstated if either man violates the terms of probation.

In other court proceedings, an Ellamore man received five years of probation after pleading guilty to failing to provide the change in information as required by the Sexual Offenders Registration laws. Timothy Lee Grubb, 45, had a one- to five-year prison sentence suspended, though he could serve up to 120 days in the regional jail at the discretion of the court.

Adrian Farrar, no age or address available, was placed on five years of probation after pleading guilty to domestic battery, third offense. A one- to five-year prison sentence was suspended in favor of the probationary term.

Joshua Alden Tenney, 24, of French Creek, was ordered to spend six months to two years at the Anthony Center after pleading guilty to operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab.

Robert James Tiffner, of Adrian, was also sentenced to serve six months to two years at the Anthony Center after pleading guilty to operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab.

Sentencing will be held Feb. 5 for Danny Lee, 23, of Buckhannon, after he pleaded guilty to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered. Lee faces up to five years in prison on each count.

Sentencing will be held Feb. 5 for Delmas Brown, 39, of Kanawha Head, after he pleaded guilty to the manufacturing of a controlled substance. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered, and Brown faces up to five years in prison.

Sentencing will be held Feb. 5 for Benjamin Oscar Powers, 38, of Buckhannon, after he pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered, and Powers faces up to five years on each count.

Sentencing will be held Feb. 5 for Joshua Elton Shipman, 37, of Buckhannon, after he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence third offense and driving while having a license revoked third offense. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered, and Shipman faces up to three years in prison on each charge.

Sentencing will be held Feb. 15 for Everett Austin Currence, 36, of Rock Cave, after he pleaded guilty to grand larceny. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered, and Currence faces up to 10 years in prison on the charge.

Sentencing will be held March 6 for Chad Edward Cook, 38, of Weston, after he pleaded guilty to the fraudulent use of an access device and to fraudulent schemes. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered, and Cook faces up to 10 years in prison on each charge.
