On Friday, a Yuletide/Solstice Concert at the Buckey House in Beverly will feature two sets of music with a substantial refreshment table at intermission.
Don Olson of Blue Rock will play the first set, featuring electric guitar and harmonica on blues and jazz favorites from the 1920s through the 1950s. Buckey House owner and proprietress Deb Farrell invites all to enjoy her array of refreshments during the 20-minute intermission.
The final set of the evening features local balladeer Jane Birdsong accompanying herself on guitar and dulcimer. Olson and Birdsong will team up on a few duets in the course of the evening celebration of the longest night of the year, which marks the official beginning of winter.
Concert showtime is 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and Americorps members. The Buckey House is located at 10 Main St. in Beverly next to the Marathon Station in Beverly.
