Elkins sweeps Tucker Valley; TVMS girls win

The Elkins Middle School boys basketball team swept a pair of games from Tucker Valley on Wednesday evening.

The Hornets (5-1) won the varsity 52-46 over the Wildcats.

Blake Loftis had 12 points, while Curtis Bullock, Dalton Hamrick and Jarrette Zopp had six points each for the Hornets.

Josh Kincaid had 15 points, while Ethan Crosten finished with 12 points to lead Tucker Valley.

Jacob Cousin added 10 points for the the Wildcats.

Elkins (5-1) won the junior varsity contest 42-12.

Zach Shreve had 10 points, while Beau Bright added five points for the Hornets.

Elkins travels to Philippi on Jan. 3 at 6 p.m.

Tygarts Valley 62, Harman 14

HARMAN?- Zac McCauley had 11 points to lead Tygarts Valley past Harman 62-14 Wednesday in Middle School boys basketball action.

David Osborn followed with nine points, while Caleb Riggleman chipped in with eight points for the Bulldogs.

Jace Stanley and Garrett Swecker had seven points each for Tygarts Valley (3-2).

Kidman Arbogast had six points to lead the Panthers.

Harman travels to Green Bank on Jan. 4 at 8 p.m.

Tygarts Valley hosts Marlinton on Jan. 4 at 5:45 p.m.

Tygarts Valley 32, Harman 8

HARMAN?- Kaleah Pritt had eight points to lead Tygarts Valley past Harman 32-8 Wednesday in Middle School girls basketball action.

Tamara Fortney added six points for the Lady Bulldogs (2-3).

Rebecca Bennett had six points to lead Harman.

Tygarts Valley hosts Philippi on Jan. 9 at 5:45 p.m.

Harman travels to Green Bank on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m.

Elkins drops pair to Tucker Valley

PARSONS?- The Elkins Middle School girls basketball team dropped a pair of games to Tucker Valley on Wednesday.

Tucker Valley won the varsity contest 65-14.

Sydney Nestor had 19 points to lead the Lady Wildcats in the win.

Haley Collett had six points to lead Elkins.

Tucker Valley won the junior varsity contest 24-11.

Carleigh Beltard, Olivia Smallwood and Mckinley Murphy had six points each for the Lady Wildcats.

Taylor Phillips had four points to lead the Lady Hornets.

Elkins host Philippi on Jan. 3 at 6 p.m.

Tucker Valley visits Davis-Thomas on Jan. 3 at 6 p.m.
