To reach 1,000 career points is a special honor for a high school player.
It's a sign of dedication to the program by the individual as obtaining the milestone usually takes four years of consistent scoring at the respective school.
The area saw three different players achieve the career mark in a week span.

Tucker County's Amber Evans bucketed her 1,000th point on Jan. 8, followed by Tygarts Valley's Brandon Pritt last Thursday and Harman's Alex Armentrout this past Monday.
"It was great to see Amber get 1,000 points for her career,"?Tucker County coach Jim Ambrose said. "She's a team leader for us and has worked very hard on becoming a good player."
While Tucker County has had its share of players reach the scoring plateau over the years, Pritt joins elite company.
Tygarts Valley's last 1,000-point scorer was Derek Yardley in 1993.
Armentrout became the eighth player in school history to pass the mark on Monday night.

LATE-GAME?DRAMATICS:?The Pocahontas County girls have a flare for the dramatics in close games at home as of late.
The Class A, eighth-ranked Lady Warriors (10-4) have defeated fellow ranked teams Tucker County and Tygarts Valley on last-second shots this season.
Both of those teams have a chance at redemption, however, as Pocahontas County must still travel to Mill Creek and Hambleton for PVC games.

BOYS TOURNEY?TURNS 100: A special celebration will take place at this year's high school boy state tournament.
In marking the 100th year of the tournament, organizers are planning a banquet and tables of memorabilia that has been collected over the years.
The state tournaments begins March 13 at the Charleston Civic Center.
Elkins defeated Wheeling, 28-13, in the first boys state championship game held in Buckhannon in 1914.
