Ambulance worker killed

A private ambulance employee died Tuesday morning from injuries suffered in an accident along Interstate 79 near Weston.

According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, 26-year-old Mark Anthony Kinder, of Wyoming County, was transported to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston where he reportedly succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Jan-Care ambulance, whose name was not released, was treated for his injuries and released.

There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the accident, according to the sheriff's department.

The accident occurred at 4:46 a.m. near mile marker 97 of the interstate.

According to the sheriff's department, the ambulance had collided with a tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer was reportedly not injured in the accident.

No cause of the accident was listed by the sheriff's department, and no citations were reported.
