Mavis Kordek Strakal was recently honored for excellence in clinical practice by the West Virginia Center for Nursing.
The organization annually honors nurses who exemplify excellence in their field. A reception was held in Parkersburg in October to recognize and honor 51 outstanding West Virginia nurses and their contributions to the health of West Virginians.
Mavis is a 1997 graduate of Elkins High School, and earned her BSN (West Virginia University) and RN in 2002, and her CNRN (Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse) in 2011.
She is currently employed at the neuroscience unit of Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Mavis and her husband, CJ, reside in the Morgantown area.
