January 18, 2013
The Inter-Mountain

Senior citizens 65 or older and younger people with an established disability and who are approved for the West Virginia Homestead Exemption program may be eligible for free senior tax credit assistance. If eligible for this tax credit, people should have recently received information from the West Virginia State Tax Department. You also must own your own home to qualify for this tax credit.

For more information regarding free assistance to receive this tax benefit, call the West Virginia Aging and Disability Resource Center. When calling the ADRC, people should have the following available: senior tax credit letter from the West Virginia State Tax Department, Social Security Award letter and verification of other sources of income.

For more information and assistance, call 304-630-2207 or 1-800-296-5341.
