TENNERTON - Preston raced to its seventh victory in a row with a 67-38 Big 10 Conference win at Buckhannon-Upshur on Tuesday night.

The Knights have held their last five opponents to under 50 points.

"I have been really pleased with the effort we have been getting on the defensive end," Preston coach Barry Sanders said. "Tonight we got some contributions from a lot of different players, and I was pleased with the win."

It's also to note the Knights have accumulated their 11-2 record with nine of the 13 games coming on the road. They return home Thursday night, hosting Robert C. Byrd.

"We have had to go on the road a lot so far, but we are going to get a lot of home games over the next month," Sanders said.

Preston led from the beginning, scoring the first five points and sprinting to a 20-8 lead after one quarter.

The Knights carried a 34-20 lead into intermission.

Preston gradually pulled away throughout the second half, building the lead to as high as 30 points at 62-32.

Mitchell Koch led a balanced Knight attack with 16 points, followed by Jimmy Galusky and Tyler Groves with 15 points each. Brandon Black scored 10 points and posted a game-high seven steals. Aaron Monroe came off the bench to produce a game-high eight rebounds.

Dalton Westfall led the Bucs with 12 points and five rebounds. Zane Clevenger chipped in with eight points and four rebounds, while Dalton Crislip had a team-high three assists.

B-U falls to 1-14 with the loss and will travel to North Marion at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
