Tygarts Valley bests Harman

Snyder fires in 32 points as Tucker downs Petersburg

MILL?CREEK - Eleven different players reached the scoring column as Tygarts Valley defeated Harman 74-42 in a battle of Randolph County small schools on Tuesday night.

Adam Cassell scored 16 points and grabbed three steals for the Bulldogs, who jumped out to a 15-8 lead after the first quarter. The advantage grew to 38-19 at intermission.

Brett Griffith chipped in 14 points, while Brandon Pritt collected eight rebounds and five assists, and Keighan Chewning eight caroms.

Alex Armentrout took game-high scoring honors with 17 points for the Panthers.

Tygarts Valley (9-2) will travel to Clay-Battelle at 7:30 p.m. Friday in second-round action of the West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament.

Harman will visit Paden City in WVHIT play on the same evening.

Tucker County 65

Petersburg ...... 42

HAMBLETON?- Tyler Snyder fired in 32 points as Class A, No. 3 Tucker County posted a 65-42 win over Petersburg on Tuesday night.

Snyder, coming off a 27-point effort in a win over Moorefield last week, also has seven steals for the Mountain Lions, who have won 11 straight games. Ian Nichols added 18 points and six rebounds.

Marshall Wratchford led the Vikings with 17 points.

Tucker County (11-1) will travel to Pendleton County at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Petersburg will visit Berkeley Springs at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Moorefield ........... 66

Pendleton County 43

MOOREFIELD?- Moorefield overcame an early deficit to cruise past Pendleton County 66-43 Tuesday night in Potomac Valley Conference play.

Adam Snyder had 19 points and six assists for the Yellow Jackets, who trailed 17-11 after the first quarter before outscoring the Wildcats 19-3 in the second.

Dakota Vetter added a career-high 12 points and eight rebounds for Moorefield. Garret Keller chipped in 10 points.

Evan Arrington and Logan Raines had 14 points each for the Wildcats, who dropped to 4-6.

Moorefield will return to action at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Pocahontas County.

Pendleton County will entertain Tucker County at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
