Tygarts Valley, Tucker earn victories

MILL?CREEK - Shanda Howell had a game-high 20 points and dished out six assists to lead Tygarts Valley past Harman 63-26 Wednesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Kelsey Arbogast added 15 points and Paige Pritt chipped in with six points for Tygarts Valley (10-4), which led 29-10 at halftime and 47-19 after three quarters of play.

Catlyn Bennett finished with 10 points, while Kenna Bennett and Layla Teter had seven points each for the Lady Panthers (2-8).

Harman will visit Union at 7:30 p.m. Saturday for a Potomac Valley Conference matchup.

Tygarts Valley will travel to Pendleton County at 7:30 p.m. Saturday for a PVC tilt.

BAKER? - Tucker County used three-players in double figures to roll past East Hardy 65-46 Wednesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Stephanie Betler had 12 points to lead the Lady Mountain Lions (10-4), who led 41-20 at halftime and 52-29 after three quarters of play.

Bekah Simmons and Amber Evans had 11 points each for Tucker County.

Hunter Radford followed with nine points and Aiyana Kachmarek chipped in with seven points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Lady Mountain Lions.

Marilyn Cassell fired in a game-high 20 points, while Ruby Fridley added 13 points for the Lady Cougars.

East Hardy will travel to Moorefield at 7:30 p.m. Friday for a PVC matchup.

Tucker County will host Pocahontas County at 7:30 p.m. on the same day for a conference matchup.

Pocahontas County 64, Moorefield 34

DUNMORE - Tristin Day had 23 points to lead Pocahontas County past Moorefield 64-34 Thursday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Bobbie McNabb followed with 13 points, while Marka Kane chipped in with nine points for the Lady Warriors (12-4), who led 31-16 at halftime and 52-23 after three quarters of play.

Tara George had 14 points to lead the Lady Yellow Jackets (6-9).

Moorefield host East Hardy 7:30 p.m. Friday for a Potomac Valley Conference matchup.

Pocahontas County visits Tucker County 7:30 p.m. on the same day for a key Potomac Valley Conference matchup.
