Deputies from the Randolph County Sheriff's Office arrested two individuals earlier this week while attempting to serve a pair of court orders.

On Tuesday, at approximately 3:30 p.m., deputies responded to the residence of Wendy Wood, 28, located at 12 Gilmore Street in Elkins.

Deputies were attempting to serve a court order on Wood and Gary Kidd, 44. Kidd also had warrants for his arrest, according to police.

Deputies served the order on Wood and requested information on the whereabouts of Kidd. Wood advised that Kidd was not at the residence and that she had not seen him, but she said she knew there were warrants for his arrest.

Wood reportedly gave consent for deputies to search the residence. After a brief search, deputies noticed a fresh dust disturbance on the top of a vehicle in the garage, police said.

A small door was seen above the vehicle that led to the attic. Deputies reportedly retrieved Kidd from the attic and placed him under arrest.

Wood was also arrested for obstructing and for possession of a controlled substance after drug evidence was found in the residence.

DHHR/Child Protective Services assumed custody of the two small children that were present. Both Wood and Kidd were transported to the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
