Lady Senators best Rams

Page Turner finished with 13 points and eight assists to lead Davis & Elkins past Shepherd 74-56 Monday night in West Virginia Conference action at the McDonnell Center.

Maquasia Ferebee and Alicia Lentz had 12 points each for the Lady Senators (11-9, 10-6 WVIAC), who led 43-23 at halftime.

Jorden Lykes followed with 10 points and seven rebounds, while Ashley Bowles and Sharmaine Baker had eight points each.

Alex Tamez and Rachel Johnson had 11 points each for the Lady Rams (9-11, 8-8)

"We played as a team and our effort tonight,"?Davis & Elkins coach Jason Asbell said. "We look forward to playing a nationally ranked team in Glenville State on Thursday."

D&E will host Glenville State at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for a key West Virginia Conference matchup.

Concord 77, Wesleyan 66

ATHENS?- West Virginia Wesleyan's women suffered a 77-66 loss at Concord Monday night in West Virginia Conference play.

Wesleyan trailed 34-33 at halftime. With only 9:24 remaining, the game was still tight, with Concord clinging to a 55-53 advantage. It responded with a 12-4 run that gave them some separation with a 67-57 lead at the 6:02 mark. Wesleyan would cut the deficit back to five points at 71-66, but the Mountain Lions scored the final six points of the night to close the issue.

Leslie Mack came off the bench to score 18 points to lead Concord, which led 34-33 at the intermission. Tanisha Williams led with eight assists, also off the bench.

Brittany Maxey led the Wesleyan offense with 22 points, while teammate Danesha Richardson chalked up a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Allie Browne led the passing with six assists. Concord improves to 6-14 overall and 5-9 in the WVIAC. Wesleyan falls to 7-11 overall and 6-9 in the league and will host Shepherd at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Men's College Basketball

Shepherd 86, D&E 82, OT

Chad Moore recorded a double-double to lead Shepherd past Davis & Elkins 86-82 Monday in overtime in WVIAC action at the McDonnell Center.

Moore finished with a game-high 36 points and 12 rebounds, while Brantley Osborne followed with 23 points and five assists for the Rams (11-8, 8-7 WVIAC), who led 44-42 at halftime.

Sidney McCray followed with 11 points, while Austin Cunningham had eight points for the Rams.

D'Quan Lynch finished with 25 points and 13 assists for the Senators (6-13, 5-10), while Igor Premasunac followed with 19 points and Ante Cosic 13 points.

D&E will host Glenville State at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a WVIAC matchup.

Concord 58

Wesleyan 52

ATHENS - Mike Boyd, Damien Tunstalle and Thomas Brown had 11 points each to lead Concord past Wesleyan 58-52 Monday in West Virginia Conference action.

Brown also had four rebounds for the Mountain Lions (11-7, 7-7).

Jordan Davis chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds, while Eric Bailey had eight points for Concord.

Kelsey Williams finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Noah Cottrill added 11 points for the Bobcats (8-11, 5-10).

Wesleyan will host Shepherd at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a WVIAC matchup.
