The law firm of McNeer, Highland, McMunn and Varner L.C. is pleased to recognize Jeff Van Volkenburg as the firm's newest shareholder. He will be one of 11 shareholders with the firm and will continue to work from the firm's Clarksburg location.
Van Volkenburg completed a clerkship with the Honorable Judge John L. Henning, Circuit Court of Randolph County, after graduating from the Duquesne University Law School in June 2006. He also completed a clerkship with each of the Pennsylvania intermediate appellate courts.
Prior to law school, Van Volkenburg obtained his Bachelor of Arts, with a major in History from the College of Wooster in 2001.
He also obtained his teaching certification while completing his undergraduate studies and taught high school social studies in Virginia public schools for two years, while working towards a Masters of Science in Education Administration at Old Dominion University. Van Volkenburg currently is the president of the Board of Directors for the North Central West Virginia Community Action Association. Van Volkenburg has been recognized as a Rising Star by West Virginia Super Lawyers and is active in the Defense Research Institute and West Virginia Defense Trial Counsel. He resides in Fairmont with his wife, Julia.
Van Volkenburg's areas of practice include insurance defense, insurance coverage, toxic tort, oil and gas litigation and personal injury.
