Tigers bow to Panthers; EHS girls to hold cancer awareness game

CHARLESTON - T.J. Arbough had a team-high 19 points to lead Lincoln County past Elkins 53-39 Wednesday in non-conference action at the Charleston Civic Center.

Andrew Davis followed with 15 points, while Tate Bragg added 10 points for the Panthers (9-13), who led 24-22 at halftime and 43-28 after three quarters of play.

Tyler Shreve and Colby Gainer had seven points each, while L.J. Lawrence and Logan Phillips had six points apiece for the Tigers (11-7).

Elkins will travel to Lewis County at 7:30 p.m. today for a Big 10 Conference contest

Cancer awareness tilt today

The Elkins High School girls basketball team will host a cancer awareness game today against Liberty in a Big 10 Conference encounter at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.

Fans are asked to wear either red or pink to the contest. Cancer survivors also will be recognized during the evening.

Postponements

Several area games were postponed on Wednesday due to the weather. They include Pocahontas County (girls) at Tygarts Valley, Elkins (girls) at Robert C. Byrd and Harman (girls) at Paw Paw.
