Elkins held off a late Buckhannon-Upshur rally to claim a 47-44 victory Tuesday night in opening round action of the Class AAA, Region II, Section 2 tournament at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.
The Lady Tigers (6-15) will travel to Hampshire at 7 p.m. Friday for the sectional championship. The Lady Trojans defeated Lewis County 63-30 in the other sectional game on Tuesday.
The Lady Bucs, who trailed 42-30 entering the fourth quarter, started the canto on a 14-3 run to cut the deficit to 45-44 on a Megan Wilfong layup with 1:18 left in the contest.

Elkins got a pair of free throws from Charlie George and Logan Dudley with less than a minute remaining to secure the win.
"It was a good team effort tonight," Elkins coach Nancy Lewis said. "I thought we played hard this evening, even though we still have a lot of injuries."
B-U, which led 12-10 after the first quarter, before Elkins outscored the Lady Bucs 18-12 in the second quarter to build a 28-24 halftime lead.
Dudley finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and two assists to lead the Lady Tigers.
Charlie George followed with 10 points for Elkins, while Ashley Simmons had six points, and Michaela Lewis-Lambert five points, six rebounds, four blocks and two steals.
Feronti had 12 points, while Courtney Reed and Megan Wilfong had 10 points each for the Lady Bucs.
"I thought we played well in the fourth quarter," B-U first-year coach Tristen Gray said. "Our full-court man (defense) got to Elkins in the fourth and we were able to get some turnovers that led us to some easy baskets.
"We played well tonight and I was proud of the girls effort. We just fell a little short at the end."
