ROMNEY - A shootout isn't expected when Elkins travels to Hampshire today in the Class AAA, Region II, Section 1 championship game.

In the two regular-season meetings between the teams, the winner in both games failed to reach 50 points. The Lady Tigers earned a 46-44 win on their homecourt, while the Lady Trojans held court at home by a final of 47-40.

Elkins had to hold off a late surge by Buckhannon-Upshur (47-44) to advance. Hampshire, meanwhile, rolled past Lewis County, 63-30.

Freshman forward Logan Dudley bucketed 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win over the Lady Bucs, while junior guard Charlie George netted 10 points.

Sophomore guard Mary Feaster and sophomore forward Tori Veach each scored 17 points for Hampshire in its victory.

Today's winner will host the section 2 runner-up on Tuesday. The loser will take to the road at the sectional champion.
