HUNTINGTON- Four Buckhannon-Upshur wrestlers earned wins during the first day of the state tourney being held at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
Brandon Tenney (106-pounds) earned an 8-1 decision over Wheeling Park's Tyson Lira, Dakota Linger (126) defeated Brooke's Chance Pattison by a technical fall (18-1), Seth Cutright (152) defeated Shady Spring's Henry Matos by a technical fall (16-0) and Daniel Nolte (220) pinned Preston's Shane Catlett (3:40).
Lewis County's Kyle Rogers (170) and Ryan Carson (182) also earned victories.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s Dakota Linger battles Brooke’s Chance Pattison during state tournament action Thursday night in Huntington. Linger, at 126 pounds, earned a 16-1 technical fall victory. The tournament continues through Saturday’s championship round.
Rogers defeated John Marshall's Jacob Wood, 3-1, while Carson pinned Woodrow Wilson's Hunter Davis (2:21).
In Class AA-A, Philip Barbour's Ian Nuzum (113), James Bell (160) and Travis Pomp (195) all were defeated.
Petersburg's Tyler Rohrbaugh, meanwhile, pinned St. Marys' Mike Houser in a time of 3:54.
Huntington and Parkersburg, with 34 points each, share the early lead in Class AAA, while four-time champion Parkersburg South (33) is third, Washington (31) fourth and Point Pleasant (27) fifth.
Buckhannon-Upshur is 13th with 12 points, and Lewis County is 21st with six points.
In Class AA-A, Wirt County (28), Independence (24.5), Clay County (24.5), North Marion (24) and Greenbrier West (24) round out the top five.
