Holly M. Harper of Elkins received her Brownie Journey Summit Award Feb. 19. The award was presented by Monica Varchetto representing Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council in Randolph County.

The Summit Award is the highest award attainable by Brownie Girl Scouts. Harper earned this award by completing all three Brownie Girl Scout Journeys in a two-year period. Each Journey required approximately 12 hours of educational, discovery and service activities. She is the first Girl Scout in Randolph County to earn this distinction.

The award ceremony was attended by Harper's parents, Daniel and Lynne Harper and her brother, Elliot Harper. Also in attendance were several local Girl Scouts and adult Girl Scout volunteers.
