Sharon L. Bowen, 64, of French Creek, the Carter community, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Upshur County, Nov. 2, 1948, a daughter of the late Foran and Maxine Perry Sanders.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Bowen, on Sept. 11, 2004.
Surviving are two stepsons, Donnie Bowen Jr. and wife, Terri, of Fredricktown, Pa., and Tech. Sgt. Steven C. Bowen and wife, Staff Sgt. Katie, of McChord Air Force Base, Wash. Also surviving are four brothers, Mike Sanders and companion, Ginger Strader, Bill, and Richard Sanders of French Creek and Robert Sanders of Strasburg, Va.; and eight grandchildren, Kendra Bowen, Sonya and Tiffany Bowen, all of Buckhannon, Hunter Bowen of Pennsylvania, Austin and Brice Bowen of Buckhannon, and Zoey and Easton Bowen of Washington. Honorary grandson, Nathan Hoover; special niece, Dawn Arnold and family; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. In addition, a special cousin, Thanna and husband, Larry West; and friends Danny and Emily Thomas survive.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Doris Lambert and infant, Emma Sanders.
Mrs. Bowen served on the Adrian Public Service District Board.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. in Center Chapel Cemetery with Pastor David Jessie officiating.
