10 girls to seek Junior Queen title

Ten girls will be vying for the honor of being named the Junior Queen at Saturday's West Virginia Strawberry Festival Junior Royalty Revue.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 12 and younger. Contestants will begin the day with a 9 a.m. registration, followed by a 9:30 a.m. rehearsal and interviews at 10 a.m. The pageant is set to begin at 1 p.m.

Competing in the Junior Queen division are Kaylee Dawn Halterman, Keri Walter, Audra Rachelle Knotts, Teshia Paige Williams, Courtney Lynne Trader, Karley Wagoner, Jazmin Gillum, Mallory Willett, Miah Brown and Athena Dills.

Dills, 13, of French Creek, is the daughter of Robert and Samantha Atchison. She is an eighth-grader at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School, and she enjoys being in the Lucky Bars 4-H Club, participating in the school's archery club, being on student council, volleyball, photography, baking cakes and fostering animals.

Brown, 12, of Masontown, is the daughter of Steve and Charlotte Brown. She is a sixth-grader at West Preston Middle School, and she enjoys competing in pageants, modeling, volunteering at church and collecting for the food pantry.

Willett, 13, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Dennis and Tracey Willett. She is a seventh-grader at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School, and she enjoys being in 4-H, participating in Rachel's Challenge, dancing, swimming, traveling, fashion design and spending time with family and friends.

Gillum, 13, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Jennifer and Eric Depoy and Ryan and Melanie Gillum. She is an eighth-grader at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School, and she enjoys gymnastics, church, volunteering, cheerleading, participating in Rachel's Challenge and being in the Wildlife Club.

Wagoner, 12, of French Creek, is the daughter of Joy and Floyd Mullins and Randy Wagoner. She is a seventh-grader at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School, and she enjoys being in 4-H, dancing, riding four-wheelers and fishing.

Trader, 13, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Eric and Shelley Trader. She is an eighth-grader at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School, and she enjoys gymnastics, cheerleading, swimming, shopping and riding four-wheelers.

Williams, 13, of Elkins, is the daughter of Liz William.s She is an eighth-grader at Elkins Middle School, and she enjoys being in the Hi-Y Club, playing piano, shopping, competing in pageants, texting, soccer, being in the school band and riding four-wheelers.

Knotts, 13, of Flemington, is the daughter of Bruce and Melissa Knotts. She is an eighth-grader at Taylor County Middle School, and she enjoys swimming, cheerleading, singing with the school groups, geocaching, camping and collecting quarters.

Walter, 13, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Laura Walter. She is a seventh-grader at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School, and she enjoys singing and dancing.

Halterman, 12, of Dunmore, is the daughter of Steve Halterman and Carol Morgan. She is a sixth-grader at Green Bank Middle School, and she enjoys Girl Scouts, Natural Helpers, being in the band, soccer, cheerleading and basketball.
