Two men indicted in separate cases pleaded not guilty to charges of third-degree sexual assault Wednesday in Randolph County Circuit Court.
Robert Allen Friel Jr., 24, of Huttonsville, pleaded not guilty to one count of third-degree sexual assault, a felony. The indictment alleges Friel had sexual intercourse with a juvenile under the age of 16 in July 2012.
Jeffery Michael Harper, 22, of Bowden, pleaded not guilty to one count of third-degree sexual assault, a felony. Harper allegedly had sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 16 on Feb. 14, 2012, and Feb. 15, 2012.
A total of 32 people were arraigned in court during bond return Wednesday.
Others included:
- Rebecca Sue Barton, 42, of Huttonsville, pleaded not guilty to three counts of transportation of dangerous substances onto the grounds of a correctional facility, a felony, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance by inmate of a jail, a felony.
- Olen Lee Vandevender, 40, of Belington, pleaded not guilty to two counts of failure to register as a sexual offender or provide notice of registration changes, a felony.
Vandevender recently pleaded not guilty to similar charges in Barbour County Circuit Court.
- Aaron Carl Cale, 19, of Elkins, pleaded not guilty to four counts of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony, and two counts of felony conspiracy.
- Andrea Dawn Phillips, 31, of Elkins, pleaded not guilty to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony, and two counts of felony conspiracy.
- Roger Lee White Jr., 27, of Beverly, pleaded not guilty to three counts of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony.
- Frankie Lee Mott, 57, of Beverly, pleaded not guilty to three counts of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony.
- Douglas Ray Charles, 32, of Elkins, pleaded not guilty to four counts of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony.
- Edward John Ammerman Jr., 31, of Beverly, pleaded not guilty to one count of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony; one count of felony conspiracy; and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
- Waleena Dawn Taylor, 38, of Elkins, pleaded not guilty to one count of shoplifting, third offense, a felony.
- Barry Nelson Conrad, 48, of Mill Creek, pleaded not guilty to one count of driving under the influence, third or subsequent offense, a felony; one count of driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher, third or subsequent offense, a felony; and one count of operating a motor vehicle exceeding speed limitations, a misdemeanor.
- Alston W. Jackson, 49, of Buckhannon, pleaded not guilty to six counts of bribery in official and political matters, a felony, and six counts of conspiracy to commit bribery, a felony.
