March 15, 2013
The Inter-Mountain

The Harlem Legends, a basketball team made up of former Harlem Globetrotter players, will conduct "Shoot for the Stars! Basketball and Physical Fitness Camp" for boys and girls from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 1-5 at Buckhannon-Upshur High School.

The camp is open for ages 7-15, and will cost $125 per child. A portion of the camp's proceeds will benefit the high school athletic department.

Campers will learn how to become a better athlete, person and basketball player, and they will be able to participate in camp contests for prizes. Each camper will receive a ticket to the April 5 game pitting the Legends against a team of Upshur All-Stars, a camp shirt, camp certificate, workout booklet, Legends photo, awards and prizes, personal autographs and photos.

The Legends feature Michael Douglas, Tyrone "Hollywood" Brown, Larry "Shorty" Coleman, Tree Gordon, Jimmy Bolden and L.T. Trahan. They will take on a team of local celebrities, including Buckhannon Police Chief Matt Gregory, Fire Chief Mitch Tacy, West Virginia State Trooper Kenny Short and Upshur County Superintendent of Schools Scott Lampinen.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 5 at Buckhannon-Upshur High School.

Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children ages 15 and under. They are available at the Bicentennial Motel and the Rock Cave IGA. Tickets at the door will be $13. The doors open at 6:30 p.m.
