He was born at Huttonsville May 14, 1945, a son of the late W. Howard Louk and Nora L. Bennett Louk.
His wife, Charlene Romain Louk, whom he married June 1, 1985, resides at their home in Nutter Fort.
Also surviving are one daughter, Angela Marie Louk of Elkins; a brother, Bonnie R. Louk and his wife, Marilee, of Garrettsville, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Mary Louk of Clarksville, Tenn., and Louise Louk of Zephyrhills, Fla.
Jim had many nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud and loved like his own.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by three brothers, Boyd, Vernon and Russell Louk.
Jim was a proud United States Army Veteran having served his country in Hawaii and Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. Jim was an orthopedic physician's assistant and also worked for 3M, Goldsmit-Black and Brown Food Service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 573, Knights of Columbus Clarksburg Council 872, 3rd Degree and the Colombian Club. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mr. Louk enjoyed traveling, wood crafts, painting and making homemade herb vinegar and brandy.
Family and friends were received at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home March 15 Family and friends then gathered on the morning of March 16 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated. Following Mass, military services were accorded outside of the church by the Harrison County Honor Guard.
