15 people face drug-related charges

The Lewis County Sheriff's Department, along with the West Virginia State Police and the Weston Police Department, rounded up 15 individuals on drug-related charges as part of an early morning sweep of Lewis and Upshur counties Monday.

Fourteen of the individuals, including one male juvenile, were apprehended in Lewis County. One person, Justin Marks, 27, of 86 Henry St., Weston, was arrested by state troopers in Upshur County. He is charged with two counts of possession and delivery of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $50,000 cash and $50,000 surety.

"They got a pretty good wake-up call," Lewis County Sheriff Adam Gissy said. "This sends a message that when we are battling drugs, there will be zero tolerance."

Gissy said the investigation into these cases began the day he took office. The arrests were spread throughout Lewis County, he said, and they began at 5 a.m. Monday.

Those taken into custody include Kyle Joseph Hayhurst, 23, of 343 Cheyenne Drive, Weston, on two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be heroin. He has posted a $50,000 cash and $50,000 surety bond.

Richard Glenn Hayhurst III, 20, of 343 Cheyenne Drive, Weston, also was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be heroin. He has also posted a $50,000 cash and $50,000 surety bond.

Brian Gene Curtis, 43, of 98 Meadowland Trailer Park, Buckhannon, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be methamphetamine. His bond was set at $25,000 cash and $25,000 surety.

Shane Michael Jeffries, 20, of 86 Henry St., Weston, is facing three counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be methamphetamine. His bond was set at $75,000 cash and $75,000 surety.

Debbie Lou Curtis, 45, of 98 Meadowland Trailer Park, Buckhannon, is charged with a single count of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be methamphetamine. Her bond was set at $25,000 cash and $25,000 surety.

Jamie Lee Wright II, 19, of 852 Winter Ave., Weston, is facing two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be marijuana. His bond was set at $50,000 cash and $50,000 surety.

Betty Sue Weimer, 35, of 276 Cottage Ave., Weston, is charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be hydrocodone. Her bond was set at $50,000 cash and $50,000 surety.

Justin Tyler McGuire, 23, of 914 Cemetery St., Weston, is charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be hydrocodone in one count and Alprazolam in the other. His bond was set at $50,000 cash and $5,000 surety.

Raymond Joseph Roselle, 20, of 506 McWhorter Road, Jane Lew, is charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be marijuana. His bond was set at $50,000 cash and $50,000 surety.

Ronald Allman II, 41, of 8 Harrison Ave., Weston, is charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine. His bond was set at $25,000 cash and $25,000 surety.

Donnie Allen, 39, of 4911 U.S. 19 North, Jane Lew, is facing a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be morphine, and a misdemeanor charge of delivery of a controlled substance.

He has posted a $40,000 personal recognizance bond and a $10,000 cash/surety bond.

Melissa Lynn Neal, 30, of 665 B Brown Road, Jane Lew, is charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be hydrocodone in one charge and oxycodone in the other. Her bond was set at $50,000 cash and $50,000 surety.

Thomas Eugene Taylor, 47, of 205 Riverside Drive, Weston, is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, which police alleged to be hydrocodone. His bond was set at $50,000 cash and $50,000 surety.

Preliminary hearings for all of the individuals arrested Monday will begin at 9 a.m. April 4 in Lewis County Magistrate Court.
