Come to the Upshur County Public Library on April 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. to enjoy Ramps, a Culinary Extravaganza by 88 Restaurant & Lounge. In order to prepare for the dinner, the library will not be open for library services April 19.
The menu will consist of stir-fried ramps, ramp chowder, ramp quiche, mixed green salad with a bacon/ramp vinaigrette dressing, tavern ham, red roasted potatoes, corn bread, dinner rolls, apple dumplings and peach-blueberry cobbler, providing items for those who are and those who are not ramp lovers. This is a unique opportunity to sample gourmet ramp dishes. Coffee, iced tea and water will be provided.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12. Children ages 5 and younger will be admitted free. Advance reservations are encouraged and will be accepted through April 16 in person at the library circulation desk or by phoning the library at 304-473-4219, ext. 14 during regular library hours. All proceeds benefit the Upshur County Public Library. The atmosphere will be relaxed. This culinary experience is available at the library only once a year. This is the 19th year for this event.
Library hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Once again, on April 19 the library will be closed to allow time to set up for the dinner.
