A memorial service for Victor Hamrick will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Valley Bend Presbyterian Church in East Dailey.
He died Dec. 29, 2012, at his home in Claymount, Del., due to smoke inhalation in a house fire.
He was born Oct. 31, 1955, to Clinton and Nancy Hamrick, who survive at East Dailey.
Also surviving are sisters, Linda (Larry) Shiflett of East Dailey and Christine (Dennis) Fincham of Conowingo, Md.; and brothers, Clinton (Tammy) Hamrick II of East Dailey and Gregory (Dee) Hamrick of Bear, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.
Victor graduated from Tygarts Valley High School and joined the Air Force after graduation. After being stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, he worked for KSL TV in Salt Lake City, Utah as a avionics engineer. He studied physics at Westminster College in Salt Lake City before returning back East and worked as an engineer for QVC for several years before going to Wells Fargo Sports Center in Philadelphia, Pa., for Comcast Sports Net, home of the Phillies, Eagles, 76'ers and his favorite sport, Flyers ice hockey.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vic may be made to the Valley Bend Presbyterian Church Community Fund at Citizens Bank, P.O. Box 449, Beverly, WV 26253 or www.victorhamrickmemoral. com. A lunch provided by the Women's Club of the church will follow the service.
