The Randolph County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the truck driver who wrecked on Country Club Road late Wednesday night.
Matthew Ray, 24, of Elkins, was driving a 1997 black Ford pick-up truck south on Country Club Road at approximately 11:33 p.m. when he veered left of center and drove off the left-hand side of the road, Randolph County Sheriff Mark Brady said Thursday. The truck struck an embankment before colliding with a utility pole, where it came to a rest, Brady said.
"He was transported to Davis Memorial Hospital by EMS, and the case is still under investigation by the deputies," the sheriff said. "The pole was damaged and the truck was a total loss."
