Phyllis Jane Linger, 74, of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at her home.
She was born May 9, 1938, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Boyd and Sarah Ramsey Alkire.
On June 10, 1959, she married Edward L. Linger, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Eddie Phillip Linger and wife, Crystal, of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Harley and Presley Linger, both of Buckhannon; two brothers, Boyd Alkire Jr. of North Carolina, and Dallas Alkire of Harrisonburg, Va.; and a special caregiver, Shelli Burnside of French Creek.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Long; and two brothers, Eugene and Denzil Alkire.
Mrs. Linger was born in Upshur County and raised in Lorentz. She worked at Central National Bank for 18 years and was vice president of Linger Trucking. She was a member of Lorentz United Methodist Church and attended Light Chapel Church.
Friends will be received Saturday, March 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Georgetown Church Cemetery in Georgetown.
