Cat adoption group to host campaign

March 30, 2013
The Inter-Mountain

For People United for Rescue and Rehabilitation WV Inc., "March Madness" doesn't have anything to do with college basketball. Instead, it marks the warming weather that sets off "kitten season."

PURR prides itself on having well-adjusted, socialized kitties ready for a place in someone's heart and home. The no-kill, cat-only organization, based in Grafton, is supported by a group of volunteers committed to making the world a more humane place one kitty at a time. All the group's cats have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested, dewormed and micro-chipped.

The group offers kittens and cats of all ages, shapes, colors and sizes for adoption. De-clawed cats also are available.

A variety of cats are available for adoption through the People United for Rescue and Rehabilitation WV Inc. group, which is based in Grafton. This adult cat, ‘Chelsea,’ is one of the pets ready for a good home.

This month, PURR is promoting a matching funds donation challenge to start PURR's much-needed on-site clinic.

PURR now can accept subscription donations - a monthly commitment to help PURR help cats - through PayPal. All donations to PURR WV are tax deductible.

Here is what donations can do: $5 covers a flea/worm treatment for one month for one cat; $10 gives the first and booster vaccine to one cat; $15 tests one cat for FeLV/FIV; $25 feeds a cat for one month; $65 spays/neuters one cat, and prevents a possible 200,000 kittens in that cat's lifetime; and $100 pays for tests, vaccinations and parasite treatments and spays/neuters one cat.

Donations of paper towels, black 30-gallon trash bags, white kitchen trash bags, Lysol wipes, hand sanitizer, baby wipes, towels, blankets and money also can be dropped off at 306 Beech St., Grafton, or at Eastern Pet Supply in Bridgeport.

More information is available online at www.purrwv.org, by emailing help@purrwv.org or calling 304-265-4671
