Lewis’ Riley throws perfect game in win over Fairmont Senior

WESTON - Tori Riley pitched a perfect game to lead Lewis County past Fairmont Senior 5-0 Monday in Big 10 Conference action.

"Tori has pitched really well this season," Lewis County coach Missy Riley, Tori's mother, said. "She has had the goal of throwing a perfect game since she started pitching at age 8. ...Now she has thrown two in one week's time." Tori Riley pitched a perfect game against Philip Barbour last week.

'It's unbelievable," Tori Riley said. "I have waited for so long to throw a perfect game, Now I have thrown two. Words are hard to find to describe this feeling."

Chey Watson had three hits and scored three runs, while Riley had a double and two RBIs for Lewis County.

Ali Shaver took the loss for the Lady Polar Bears.

Lewis County travels to East Fairmont tonight tonight at 4:30 p.m. for a Big 10 Conference tilt.

Liberty 3, Elkins 2

Alyssa Jones and Cheyenne Clayton had two hits each to lead Liberty (Harrison) past Elkins 3-2 Monday in Big 10 Conference action in eight innings.

Alexandria Carder picked up the win for Liberty (Harrison) in eight innings of work. She gave up two runs on nine hits, walked one and struck out three.

Michaela Lewis-Lambert took the loss for the Lady Tigers in eight innings of work.

She gave up three runs on eight hits, walked three and struck out nine.

Hailey Collins had two hits and an RBI, while Lewis-Lambert had two hits for Elkins (5-8).

Jordan Hart added two hits and a run scored for Elkins.

"I thought Michaela pitched well tonight," Elkins coach Corrine Palmer said. "We just didn't have the timely hits tonight and we also had some mental mistakes."

Elkins hosts Grafton tonight at 5 p.m. for a Big 10 Conference tilt.

Tygarts Valley 12, South Harrison 1

LOST CREEK -Paige Pritt had a double and scored two runs to lead Tygarts Valley past South Harrison 12-1 Monday in non-conference action.

Charity Lower, Alexis Vandevender and Shaunna Taylor had one hit and scored two runs each for the Lady Bulldogs.

Taylor picked up the win in three innings of work for TVHS.

Tygarts Valley hosts Pocahontas County tonight at 5 p.m. for a Potomac Valley Conference tilt.
