Buckhannon woman charged with embezzlement

April 19, 2013
By John Wickline - Upshur Bureau Chief , The Inter-Mountain

A Buckhannon woman who served as a bookkeeper for two local businesses has been charged with two counts of embezzlement, and the Upshur County Sheriff's Department says more charges could be pending in this active investigation.

According to the complaint in Upshur County Magistrate Court, Pamela Butcher, 43, of 117 Cottonwood Drive, served as a bookkeeper for TKS Contracting and Roustabout Services LLC. The complaint stated that Butcher "embezzled and fraudulently converted to her personal checking account" $1,012.11 from TKS Contracting and $1,933.50 from Roustabout Services LLC.

Butcher is free after posting a $100,000 bond. Part of the bond conditions require that she have no contact with either company.
