Buckhannon-Upshur edges EHS

TENNERTON - Julie Tenney had three hits to lead Buckhannon-Upshur past rival Elkins 6-2 Monday in Big 10 Conference action.

Tenney finished with three RBIs and scored a run for the Lady Bucs (13-10).

Brooklyn Waddell added two hits, an RBI and scored a run, while Casey Frederick and Sarah Ling had one hit each and an RBI for Buckhannon-Upshur.

Megan Williams picked up the win for the Lady Bucs in five innings on the mound. She gave up two runs on two hits, walked one and struck out four.

Michaela Lewis-Lambert took the loss for the Lady Tigers in four innings of work. She gave up six runs on 10 hits, walked five and struck out two.

Madison Collett and Amelia Preusch had the lone hits for Elkins.

Kelsi Trippett and Kathryn Reed scored the runs for the Lady Tigers.

"We took advantage of a few base-on balls and errors and put a few hits in there and we created some runs today," Buckhannon-Upshur coach Tom Hasbrouck said. "Megan Williams was also in control of her pitches today and forced them into hitting ground balls and pop ups to the field."

Elkins (6-11) hosts Robert C. Byrd on Wednesday at 5 p.m. for a Big 10 Conference tilt.

Buckhannon-Upshur travels to Bridgeport on the same day for a conference tilt at 4:30 p.m.

Tygarts Valley 11,

Richwood 9

RICHWOOD - Charity Lower had four hits and scored four runs to lead Tygarts Valley past Richwood 11-9 Monday in non-conference action.

Paige Pritt added four hits, three RBIs and a home run for the Lady Bulldogs (6-6).

Lower notched the win in 2 2/3 innings of relief.

Tygarts Valley visits Moorefield tonight at 4:30 p.m. for PVC double-header.

High School Baseball

Pendleton County 6, Tucker County 0

PARSONS - Daniel Hevener had two hits to lead Pendleton County past Tucker County 6-0 Monday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Logan Raines had an RBI double, while Luke Yokum and Logan Cooper had RBI singles each for the Wildcats (12-7, 8-3 PVC).

Cooper notched the win for Pendleton County in six innings of work. He gave up no runs on three hits, walked two and struck out 13.

Jeriah Joseph took the loss for Tucker County in a complete-game effort. Joseph gave up six runs on nine hits and struck out five.

Nick Akins had a double to lead Tucker County.

Pendleton County hosts East Hardy tonight at 7 p.m. for a Potomac Valley Conference action.

Tucker County travels to Moorefield on Wednesday at 5 p.m. for an conference tilt.

Elkins 7,

Buckhannon-Upshur 4

TENNERTON - Tyler Shreve had two hits and scored two runs to lead Elkins past Buckhannon-Upshur 7-4 Monday in Big 10 Conference action.

Clayton Collett added an RBI triple for the Tigers (9-8).

Tyler Scott notched the win for Elkins in six innings of work.

Dalton Westfall took the loss for the Bucks in 6 1/3 innings of work.

Westfall had a two-run home run to lead B-U.

"It's always nice to get a win over your rival," Elkins coach Adam Roth said. "We got some timely hits tonight when we needed them."

Buckhannon-Upshur hosts Fairmont Senior tonight at 7 p.m. for a Big 10 Conference tilt.

Elkins entertains Robert C. Byrd on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for a conference tilt.
