EHS hosts HHS; Tucker visits TV

High school baseball sectionals will get fully underway tonight around the area with seven games on tap.

Among the opening round games scheduled for tonight are, in Class AAA, Region II, Section 3 Hampshire visits Elkins at 4:30 p.m. On Wednesday Elkins will travel to Hampshire for a possible double-header.

The Trojans defeated Elkins twice in the regular season, 5-3 and 2-1.

In Class AAA, Region II, Section 4 tournament action, Buckhannon-Upshur visits rival Lewis County at 7 p.m. today, The winner of tonight's game will host a possible double-header on Wednesday evening.

These two teams split during the regular season, with Buckhannon-Upshur defeating Lewis County 5-0 back on April 2 and losing to Lewis County on April 20, 4-3.

In Class A, Region II, Section 2 action Tygarts Valley will host Tucker County at 5 p.m. today and a possible double-header will be Thursday at 5 p.m.

Tygarts Valley swept Tucker County in the regular season 10-0 and 6-5.

In Class A, Region II, Section 4 tournament action, East Hardy travels to Moorefield tonight at 7 p.m.

Moorefield beat East Hardy twice during the regular season, 14-11 and 5-4.

Also in Class A, Region II, Section 4, Pendleton County will play Pocahontas County tonight at 7 p.m.

In Class AA, Petersburg traveled to Berkeley Springs Monday and a possible double-header will played tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Petersburg.

Other sectional games in Class AA today include Grafton traveling to Philip Barbour tonight at 4:30 p.m. Philip Barbour beat Grafton Monday 9-2.

All game scheduled could change depending on the weather.
