The West Virginia Classic Wheels Car Club, a nonprofit organization established to further the restoration and preservation of automobiles of the past, will host a series of events throughout the summer.
The family-oriented club uses the events not only as a way to fellowship with other car enthusiasts, but to raise funds in support of needy charities in the community.
The first event will be a free cruise-in from 5 to 11 p.m. May 17 at the Kelley Motors parking lot. The group will participate the next day in the West Virginia Strawberry Festival's Antique Car Parade at 12:30 p.m. down the Strawberry Lane parade route.
The second "Buckhannon Summer Blast from the Past" will be a two-day event on July 26 and 27. Main Street will turn into a huge block party with events for all ages. The event will be from 6 to 10 p.m. July 26 and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 27.
The last event of the season will be the fifth annual Labor Day Car Show, set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 2 at the North Buckhannon Riverfront Park.
New members are always welcome to join the club. Meetings are on the first Monday of each month at the clubhouse on Hinkle Drive. Anyone interested can call 304-472-8156 for further information.
