Tire collection days set in Randolph County

May 16, 2013
The Inter-Mountain

Each year, REAP's Pollution Prevention and Open Dump Program conducts tire collection events across the state. At least one collection event takes place in each county.

During these events, individuals with proof of West Virginia residency can dispose of 10 tires in a safe way. PPOD also is responsible for the removal of tires piles located across the state.

Tire collection days in Randolph County are this Friday and Saturday. Tires can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Leslie Equipment Co. on Corridor H near Norton and Saturday at the Recycling Center in Dailey.

Only tires from state residents will be accepted. Participants should have their West Virginia ID ready when they sign in.

Tires on the rims/wheels will be accepted.

There is a 10-tire limit per person. Anyone who needs information about the disposal of a larger quantity of tires can call Mike Park at 304-940-0258 for instructions.
