‘Great Gatsby’ gala set

May 30, 2013
The Inter-Mountain

West Virginia Wesleyan College and St. Joseph's Hospital will host the seventh annual gala event Friday at The Gatsby Mansion at The Stonewall Resort in Roanoke. The event is being held as a fundraiser to benefit both organizations.

The theme this year is "The Great Gatsby," a modern-day take on the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. Attendees can step back into the "Roaring Twenties" when the jazz is hot, the cocktails are cold and a party at Gatsby's was the cat's meow. The decadent evening will begin at 6 p.m. as guests follow the green light to the mansion at West Egg. A scrumptious feast, casino gaming in the speakeasy and live music await.

This year, the East Egg Echelon sponsors are Dick and Carole Ralston and Friends, Energy Land and Mineral, and Pallottine Health Services Inc. The West Egg Elite sponsors are The Dunn Family, Graystone Consulting, Harry Green Chevrolet, Premier Bank, Tuscany Gas LLC, William '58 and Mara Watson '58, West Virginia Wesleyan College and Robert L. Wharton Enterprises.

The event will consist of dinner, drinks and dancing, as well as a casino and live and silent auctions. Queen City Funk & Soul from Cumberland, Md., will provide the music for the evening.

To learn more about the gala or to purchase tickets, anyone interested can contact Patricia Lake at 304-473-6819.
