Who hath believed our report

June 8, 2013
By Pastor Stephen W. Pyle - Elkins Church of God of Prophecy

Our daughter, Stephanie, has found a new love interest. His name is "Dan." She so often has shorter conversations with mom and dad because she'd rather spend time with Dan! I call this nice young man: "Dan Rather."

Personally, while spending a decade in radio broadcasting, this writer learned how to spread the good and the bad news within a short period of time. On two occasions I've received honorariums for separate news stories submitted from the Associated Press. Praise our Jehovah God, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for all benefits.

Global Postition Satellite technologies and other 'star wars' innovations assists the AP, Reuters, UPI, CNN, NBC, ABC, FOX, MSNBC, Dan Rather's CBS, and other multi-media to announce fast-breaking stories. Within a few moments, the entire globe is aware!

In Jesus' earthly ministry, we read that he was in a packed house. His presence was "noised abroad." Isaiah reminds us through his prophecy at least 700 years prior to Christ's coming to earth as the "Son of Man," that there would be universal unbelief in Him among mankind.

The Gospel Good News spread so quickly about Jesus Christ's healing and miraculous Holy Ghost power, that even a sick, 12-year long hemorrhaging woman, was healed by touching the hem of his garment.

Isaiah asks in chapter 53 verse one: "Who hath believed our report, and to whom is the arm of the Lord been revealed?" My favorite passage in the chapter, is verse five: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him: and with His stripes we are healed."

Bad news travels fast. We are witnessing, a decline of faith in Jesus Christ among the world's population. Hebrews 13:8 declares: "Jesus Christ, the same, Yesterday, and Today, and Forever."

Even among in-laws, family, friends, colleagues, and co-workers, there is a rapid decline in true Christian faith. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." During my time in preaching ministry and especially of late, I have faced among many persons, a rebellion concerning the Holy Bible's truth and infallibility.

A flashlight is used for night vision and in dark places. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world," and for his blood bought saints, the Church of the Living God, We are the light of the world.

We cannot hide our light or candle under a bushel basket. "A city that sits on a hill, cannot be hid." The Word of God, Jesus, history or we say his story is a "lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."

Jesus is the only mediator between Jehovah God and man; (1st Timothy 2:5). Mary, the mother of Jesus is mentioned in the new Testament, for the final time in Acts chapter 1, where the number of the names together were about "an hundred and twenty".

After selecting a successor to replace Judas Iscariot, this group, along with the 12 apostles and Mary, were waiting for the promise of the Holy Spirit to fall upon them. She, along with those present in the Upper room at Pentecost, were baptized in the Holy Ghost and with fire!

In verse 14 we read KJV: "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren." Jude and James were half brothers to Jesus through his earthly parents, Joseph and Mary. James and John, the Thunder sons of Zebedee, were first cousins to Christ after the flesh, and their mother was Mary's sister, Salome.

Job 5:1 says: "Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn." Jesus Christ is the "only way, truth and life." "No man cometh unto the Father but by him." My personal godly heritage in Christ alone did not start with a sixth century vision inside a cave, which would become a radical religion of death. Jehovah God is a God of the living.

My faith doesn't believe in the intentual and unintentual finding an animal crawling on the ground which might be a family member from a former life!

These religious beliefs are known as seducing spirits and doctrines of devils (1st Timothy 4:1-5). Dear hearts, The prince of this present world, Satan, is blinding the eyes and minds of persons, universally.

"And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son, Jesus Christ. He that hath the son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life."

"These things have written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

"And we know that the Son of God is come and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him (Jesus) that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life." (First John chapter 5).

How far is it from Heaven to Hell? Only about 18 inches. That is the average distance from our head to our hearts. Someone once told me that before they would have faith in Christ, they wanted to understand him intellectually.

The apostle Paul writes to the Roman church in chapter 10 verses 8-10: "But what saith it? the word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

English Separatists, Puritans and colonial pilgrims foreign to this soil sought to form new godly colonies. As a result of their faith in Jehovah God, His Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, the U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights were written with their great influence in developing this once devout, Christian nation, the USA.

John Quincy Adams, on our nations's 61st birthday, July 4, 1837, reminded those gathered: "Why is it that next to the birthday of the Savior of the world, your most venerated festival returns on this day July 4?

"Is it not that in the chain of human events the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it forms a leading event in the progress of the gospel dispensation?

"Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer's (Jesus Christ) mission upon earth? That is laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity?"

It is interesting to note that three of our first five U.S. presidents each died on July 4. They were John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe.

The Imperials had a number one southern gospel song in the late 1970's called "O Buddha." "It won't be old Buddha that's sittin on the throne, It won't be old Mohammed, that's callin us home and it won't be Hari Krishna, that plays that trumpet tune, and we're going to see the son, not Reverend Moon...

"So let's all live for Jesus, cause he's coming back real soon. Amen and Amen."
