The Inter-Mountain
More than 150 flags, worn out from worthy service, were retired Friday evening during a flag retiring service near Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Beverly. Belington resident Connie Cottrell, both, retires the first flag of the evening. Members of the American Legion Post 29 of Elkins, along with their friends, family members and volunteers from the West Virginia Children’s Home in Elkins, participated in the ceremony. The ashes from the flags will be buried at the Little Arlington Cemetery in Elkins.
