Summit Church will launch its grand opening of Celebrate Recovery June 27 at the Goff Street location in Elkins.
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps one overcome hurts, hang-ups and habits. It is based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory.
The purpose is to encourage fellowship and to celebrate God's healing power in people's lives as they work along the road to recovery. The program focuses on the power of Jesus Christ to transform lives.
Participants are changed as they share their experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, they strive to accept God's grace and forgiveness in solving life's problems.
Celebrate Recovery is for everyone who struggles with a hurt, habit or hang-up that negatively affects their life. This biblical 12-step program is based on eight recovery principles borrowed from the Beatitudes. Participants are led through a process of restoring their relationship with God, with themselves and with others and as well find freedom from addictions.
The Celebrate Recovery program at Summit Church is for anyone within the church body or community who is looking for a pathway to recovery or wants to support a loved one in need of healing. Celebrate Recovery is designed to foster all kinds of healing, whether the issue is alcoholism, substance abuse, co-dependency, sexual addiction, gambling or food issues, anger, loneliness, depression, divorce recovery or domestic violence.
Summit Church is under the leadership of Pastors Hal and Lisa Boehm. The church meets at the American Mountain Theatre at 10 a.m. Sunday and at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 302 Goff St.
