Women's HealthCare at Davis Memorial Hospital now offers a walk-in clinic four days a week as well as the added services of a new family nurse practitioner Deborah Ransbottom.
Available now, the GYN walk-in clinic will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and Fridays from 1 until 4 p.m. The new service is the latest way for Women's HealthCare to serve as a "one-stop shop" for all of women's gynecologic health needs.
Ransbottom, FNP-BC, has joined a team that includes Anne Banfield, M.D., FACOG; Ernest Flores, M.D.; Jorgen Olsson, M.D., FACOG; and Mary Ann Scott, M.D., FACOG. Ransbottom is a board-certified nurse practitioner who got her master's of science in nursing from Wheeling Jesuit University.
Deborah Ransbottom, FNP-BC, will provide walk-in GYN services at Davis Memorial Hospital’s Women’s Healthcare four days a week.
"Women have so many roles that they must fill - wives, mothers, daughters, sisters - that too often their own health care needs come last," Ransbottom said. "We want to help them concentrate and take care of their own health needs."
The availability of a walk-in clinic is one more way Davis Memorial Hospital is striving to offer more convenient care for people, Banfield noted.
"There's no appointment necessary, which makes it easier to get necessary medical evaluations and proper care quickly," Banfield said. "We're pleased to offer this new service to help women in our region."
Women's HealthCare offers many services specific to the needs of female patients, including post-menopausal care, incontinence management, pelvic prolapse management, family planning and infertility services, adolescent gynecology and management of abnormal pap smears.
In addition to assisting in those areas, Ransbottom brings experience in endocrinology, including management of diabetes and insulin for pregnant women, as well as specialized training in dealing with osteoporosis and thyroid issues.
"I'm really looking forward to working with Banfield and the entire Women's HealthCare team," Ransbottom said. "I love Elkins and the Potomac Highlands region and know this will be a great fit for me."
