Nothing makes a public event more festive than great live music free to all. The Martin Street Fair, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, will sponsor a free show Cavalcade of Stars on Friday beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the center stage. All the bands appearing are recording artists for Lone Wolf Studios of Elkins and will feature their best tunes, soloists and groove.
Bowyer Drive will be one of the groups appearing and once you've seen them perform you'll wonder why you haven't heard their cleverly crafted songs and dazzling harmonies dozens of times at the top of country radio charts. Natives of north-central West Virginia, the five-member band represent the best of West Virginia when it comes to home-grown modern country rock with a bluesy kick. Bowyer Drive revolves around siblings Ali Bowyer, 23, and Drew Bowyer, 26, who grew up and nurtured their own unique musical style on Bowyer Drive, a meandering gravel road tucked into the bluish green mountainscape of Lewis County, West Virginia.
Perhaps Bowyer's Drive's most attractive asset is its ability to charm a wide variety of live audiences that leave shows reluctantly, always clamoring for more. From the 2010 release of its freshman album, "Life is a Song,' to the recent release of ther sophomore album, "Get Me There," the most significant stride band members have made is developing a firm belief in the versatility of the music they make no matter what kind.
Bowyer Drive is set to perform at Martin Street Fair.
The entire downtown area of Elkins will be jumping with excitement as the Mountain State Street Machines Cruise-in arrives at the depot and First Friday activities liven things on Davis Avenue. With the entire hubbub the Cavalcade of Stars will keep things festive and up beat for all.
"We're proud to be part of this new community event, there will be something there for all to enjoy," stated Lone Wolf owner, musician and producer Seth Maynard.
Additional groups for the Cavalcade include Aurora Celtic, Good Vittles and Company and Osmosis. The evening culminates with fireworks so bring your lawn chairs and settle in for great music in a family friendly environment at the Martin Street Fair.
